Steven received his B.S. degree from Mississippi State University. He is a husband, a father, a family man, an entrepreneur likened to his father and grandfather.
Steven’s grandfather was a true pioneer in the oil and gas industry, building and running his own small independent oil company. His father followed in those footsteps on a grander scale, ultimately founding and operating more than 50 companies that came together under the banner of The Craft Companies.
Early in his career, Steven worked side-by-side with his father for several years as a petroleum geologist before stepping into business development, where he played a key role in raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for an ambitious new wildcat drilling venture.
After several years of being steeped in the family tradition, Steven felt a growing conviction in his heart to follow and seek after God, which in turn led Steven to steward the spiritual gift of faith and the natural entrepreneurial gifts he had inherited in a new direction. The same grit, faith, and generational vision that built drilling rigs in the fields of Mississippi and Alabama would soon build something entirely different down on the Gulf Coast of Florida.
In 2020, Steven founded Lucleon Insurance in Destin, Florida, channeling years of risk-management experience from the volatile oil patch into protecting families and businesses with the same diligence and integrity his grandfather and father had shown in energy. Steven brought the Craft legacy forward—not by drilling deeper, but by covering what matters most in service to others.
Steven’s heart of gratitude and dependence on God, rooted in Christ, remains the constant compass whether he’s evaluating potential onshore oil reserves or crafting insurance solutions that let Floridians sleep soundly through hurricane season. Today, Lucleon stands as the latest chapter in a three-generation story of faith-fueled entrepreneurship: from independent oil wells to an independent insurance agency, the mission has always been the same—honoring God, serving people, and building something that lasts.
